Every MunkeyBarz belt is cut and stitched by hand from durable leather, with a foam-padded lining and a padded grip bar on each side. Getting the size right means the belt sits snug on the hips and the grips stay where they should. This guide covers measuring, choosing between sizes, fitting and care.
1. Measure where the belt will sit
MunkeyBarz is worn low, around the hips, not at the natural waist. Use a soft tape measure and wrap it around the widest part of the hips, where you plan to wear the belt. Keep the tape flat and level, snug but not tight. Write down the number in inches.
2. Pick your size

The ranges overlap, so most measurements fit more than one size. Choose the size where your measurement falls closest to the middle of the range. That leaves buckle holes free on either side, so you can wear it a little tighter or looser.
Example: a 34″ measurement fits all three sizes. It sits nearest the middle of Medium (29″ to 39″), so Medium is the best choice.
3. How it should fit
- The wide back panel sits across the lower back, with the grip bars at the sides of the hips.
- The buckle sits at the front. Fasten both prongs of the double-prong buckle and slide the strap end through the leather keeper.
- It should feel snug and secure without pinching. You should be able to slide a flat hand between the lining and your skin.
- New leather is firm. It softens and shapes to the body after a few wears.
4. Care
- Clean: wipe the leather and the foam lining with a soft, damp cloth after use. Use a little mild soap on the lining if needed, then wipe again with clean water.
- Dry: let it air-dry flat, away from radiators, hair dryers and direct sun. Heat can dry out and crack leather.
- Condition: every few months, rub in a small amount of leather conditioner with a soft cloth to keep it supple. Test on the inside of the strap first.
- Store: keep it flat or loosely curled in a cool, dry place. Don't store it folded tight, and keep it out of plastic bags so the leather can breathe.
- Avoid: soaking it, putting it in a washing machine, or using solvents or alcohol on the leather.

- MunkeyBarz Black: the original, in deep black leather.
- MunkeyBarz Pink: hot pink leather with clear crystal trim.
- MunkeyBarz White: ivory leather with silver-set crystal studs.
